Description
Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking a Director of Event Technology to join our team in Washington, DC. The Director of Event Technology is responsible for leading the event technology team and consulting with customers and hotel event management to create defining experiences for all customer live and virtual events based at the Yours Truly Hotel.

This position is a Full-Time salaried (exempt) role. Typical daytime hours, although occasional early mornings, late nights and weekend work may be required.

The Yours Truly Hotel is perfectly situated by Dupont Circle and in the heart of Washington DC. At this venue, you are just a 3 minute drive to George Washington University, 6 minutes from the National Mall, and just over a mile away from the White House! Position Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Markey’s event technology team, managing all day-to-day activities regarding event technology services in the venue.
  2. Work directly with clients contracting with the hotel, requiring various services including: audiovisual rental, rigging services and technical labor.
  3. Consult with internal and external clients; generate quotes, labor estimates & room diagrams; and provide creative as well as technical audiovisual solutions for events to help secure business at its greatest potential.
  4. Foster a positive working relationship between Markey’s and the hotel, working effectively and professionally with hotel management, event and support staff, clients and event planners.
  5. Attend all site visits, BEO meetings, and pre-event meetings.
  6. Provide work direction to employees and help develop them professionally.
  7. Responsible for annual budget, managing revenue and expense, and on site inventory management to meet or exceed expectations.
  8. Generate and update daily and weekly forms including but not limited to billing, daily equipment “boards”, schedules, and forecasts.
  9. Meet on-site clients to ensure order accuracy & functionality, assist in set-up and teardown of A/V equipment, coordinate and act as on-site liaison for events.
  10. Follow and maintain existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for event management and operational functions.
  11. Effectively manage service recovery situations while being mindful of the facility and the client.
  12. Coordinate equipment and labor needs with other Markey’s locations.
  13. Fulfill other duties as assigned to ensure success of Markey’s events.
