This is a breakthrough opportunity to serve as the trusted Additive Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert (SME), embedding directly within the Navy's Organic Industrial Base (OIB)—including vital shipyards, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC), and Trident Refit Facilities. If you have

You'll be part of a team that is the extraordinary support mechanism driving the Additive Manufacturing Transition Naval project (AMX), leading from the front lines by walking the shop floors shoulder-to-shoulder with planners and engineers. Your mission is to identify high-impact AM part candidates from legacy documentation and physical inspections, transforming decades-old maintenance processes. You'll champion AM innovation by designing and delivering customized Phillips training programs, covering everything from part screening and DfAM to machine qualification and QMS documentation. This role demands you create new benchmarks for industrial AM education, launching trainings that simultaneously elevate technical confidence and mission-critical competence, all while collaborating directly with the Navy Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AMCOE) to drive rapid adoption and sustainment across the fleet.

Beyond the OIB, you'll deliver unmatched expertise as an Additive Applications Engineer, dedicated to profoundly increasing the understanding of additive technology across our federal customers. This entails coordinating with the Phillips team to orchestrate a dynamic, multi-site AM presence, seamlessly navigating from facility to facility to inject momentum and capability wherever it is most needed. When your team is tasked with engineering AM breakthroughs that truly scale, transforming singular successes into robust, enterprise-wide solutions that will define the future of military readiness, you'll be the first to raise your hand. By fueling the operationalization of additive, you will turn abstract opportunity into tangible output, moving concepts into lasting capability that ensures longevity for our nation's warfighters. As you partner with Phillips AM experts to constantly sharpen tools and strategies, you will not merely keep pace with the industry, but actively define its curve, leveraging a deep understanding of the entire Phillips Additive equipment portfolio—from initial installation and training through to full-scale production support.

Compensation at Phillips is based on the market and your individual level of contribution. The expected pay range for a qualified person in this role is between $90,000.00 and $110,000.00 annually plus bonus opportunities.
