The LPN Team Leader works under the direct supervision of the Associate Medical Director.
The LPN Team Lead is responsible for providing leadership, management, and operational oversite of medical support staff and services at all Master Center locations.
They are responsible for implementing and maintaining workflows to support patient care.
The LPN Team Lead is responsible for the quality of work, productivity, team member engagement and morale, and ensures employee adherence to department and practice policies to achieve treatment goals and objectives are met. WORK LOCATION :
- In-person at any of the MCAM clinics, primary office in Glen Allen, VA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities : Leads selection process for new Medical Assistants and Nurses. Onboards new team members. Conducts skills assessment of Vivitrol injections and phlebotomy, laboratory practice, pharmacy practice, patient care documentation, for Medical Support Staff. Manages and supports Medical Support Staff by managing staff schedules including PTO requests for team members at all locations. Establishes and monitors workflows, productivity, and quality assurance for Medical Support Staff. Conducts performance management activities in a timely manner, including periodic reviews, professional growth development plans, disciplinary actions, and organizational requirements and expectations.
Conducts competency evaluations for Medical Support Staff at hire and annually and documents with HR. Conducts weekly team meetings and individual 1-on-1 meetings with all managed staff members. Operational Duties AND Responsibilities :
Travels to all locations to coordinate operations and activities of Medical Support Staff, including supervising, acting as a liaison, directing training, programming, and supporting compliance with all rules, regulations, and policies that apply.Travel may comprise up to 50% of the overall worked schedule to manage coverage. Communicates in a collaborative manner to promote teamwork and maintain a positive and productive work environment. Assists in the development of department policies and standard operating procedures for medical support staff while providing supervisor support and guidance to team members and providers. Escalates patient complaint calls for resolution. Works in conjunction with onsite staff at each location to ensure medical equipment is maintained and in compliance with manufacturer recommendations. Assists with the planning, staffing and opening of new Master Center locations. Exemplifies Master Center’s Mission, Vision and Values. Maintains knowledge about Master Center model of care, services and program compliance. Assists with special projects such as regulatory compliance, large medical record requests (billing and / or audit related) and other projects as determined by the Medical Operations Manager or designee. Assists in the development of department policies and standard operating procedures while providing supervision, support, and guidance. Implements and follows up on all support service recommendations. Supports regulatory compliance in review and education of standards, audits and monthly compliance logs managed by medical support staff. Conducts quality assurance audits of provider documentation monthly and medical support staff documentation / log compliance. Clinical Duties and Responsibilities :
Supports clinical needs of location, whether as primary MSS at alternate locations or as support MSS when in Glen Allen (relieve for lunches, support or in lab to ensure no patient delays). Overseas the medication approval / ordering processes by maintaining an injection spreadsheet and supporting the team in acquiring needed Prior Authorizations (PA). Maintains responsibility for the support of assigned providers to include management of injection orders, telephone encounters, medical records, and prior authorizations. Acts as liaison, advocate, and coordinator for individuals receiving services. Educates and updates patients on medical treatments. Fosters open and supportive communication with individuals receiving services, families, guardians, regulatory agencies, and other community organizations and agencies. Pharmacy Collaborates with Associate Medical Director to implement and maintain necessary workflows to support patient treatment. Manage communications with specialty pharmacies, medication inventory, alternate delivery / DEA Maintains compliance with State pharmacy board regulations and procedures Lab Serves as a point of contact with Lab vendors. Facilitates EHR changes to testing codes, billing invoices and / or issues, and Master Center account management as needed with vendors. Assist providers / MSS with laboratory orders and retrieving lab results Supplies : Monitors existing inventory of current medical equipment / supplies and facilitates ordering of PPE, specimen cups, and exam room supplies as needed. Compliance Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Privacy rule. Monitors completion of ISPs, in conjunction with the Medical Operations Manager. Other projects and duties as assigned. Excellent interpersonal skills. Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Working knowledge of EMR computer and software applications used in job functions. (Experience with E-Clinical Works a PLUS!). Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Required Minimum Education : Bachelor’s Degree preferred Licensure / Certification Required : Current LPN Licensure in good standing with state of VA Minimum Years and Type of Experience : Two years clinic or office management experience (required) Please do not contact the office directly!
