Job description

Lexington Health is seeking a forward-thinking Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of our growing Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. This position plays a critical role in maintaining institutional accreditation, fostering excellence in resident education, and guiding the continued expansion of our residency and fellowship programs.

About the Role

As DIO, you will serve as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s (ACGME) designated official for Lexington Health, with authority and responsibility for the oversight and administration of all GME programs sponsored by the institution.

In this role, you will :

Serve as chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC)

Ensure institutional and programmatic compliance with all ACGME requirements

Oversee the Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) process

Guide the development of new programs and lead ACGME accreditation efforts

Provide support and mentorship to program directors, associate program directors, faculty, and coordinators

Represent GME interests on the Medical Executive Committee

Collaborate with medical school affiliates and internal stakeholders to advance the GME mission

Lead educational workshops, mock site visits, and policy development

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE) position . Applicants interested in full-time work (1.0 FTE) are encouraged to apply—additional responsibilities will be coordinated based on your qualifications and the needs of Lexington Health.

Qualifications

Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or other doctoral-level degree (PhD, EdD)

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a DIO, residency or fellowship program director, or associate program director

In-depth knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
