Join our fantastic OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, which houses a 24 / 7 heart-care team. We provide dynamic medical care and are known for our commitment to patient safety, dignity, and well-being.
Schedule / Hours :
Full-time evening shifts, varying between 8 or 10 hours. Monday to Friday with on-call duty primarily overnight, and occasional weekend shifts. On-call requirements involve arrival within 30 minutes.
Major Responsibilities :
Prepare and maintain a sterile environment before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring optimal conditions for patient care.Assist in various surgical procedures while maintaining proficiency in aseptic techniques.Set up and arrange the operating room for each procedure, moving equipment as needed.Function as a Second Assistant when necessary.Communicate swiftly with the team regarding equipment or supply issues.Ensure transportation and readiness of supplies and patients.Maintain specialty equipment and supply carts, ensuring their completeness and optimal condition.Support safe patient positioning and transport, utilizing appropriate techniques.Show a clear understanding of age-specific needs for patient care.Requirements :
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association is needed within 6 months of hire.Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.No prior experience is required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical equipment.Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.Basic computer proficiency.A commitment to ongoing educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.Physical Requirements :
