Logistics Administrator
We are looking for an experienced logistics administrator to oversee transportation logistics operations for a leading organization in Lincoln, NE. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing truck transportation activities, ensuring cost-effective delivery solutions, and maintaining high performance standards. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders and carriers, as well as providing insights into freight markets and optimizing transportation strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate truck transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials and products.
- Analyze freight markets and negotiate competitive rates with carriers, ensuring cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide market-based pricing and maintain accurate freight rates in relevant systems.
- Monitor carrier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address service issues.
- Maintain and update internal databases, spreadsheets, and systems related to contracts, freight rates, and customer information.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions within transportation operations.
- Act as a subject matter expert on transportation markets, providing insights and guidance to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with third-party truck carriers, ensuring profitability and alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee compliance with customer and plant-specific shipping requirements across multiple product lines.
- Support enterprise transportation strategies through capacity management, rate negotiations, and shipment execution.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable rates and contracts.
