Job Description
We are looking for a Co-op for the Spring 2026 semester who can work full-time, onsite, starting in January. This is an educational position, requiring basic knowledge and understanding of packaging and manufacturing industry and technical concepts. During the co-op, you will collaborate to serve both internal and external customers of the company. Interface across various work areas and organizations to support the process of design, development, and analysis of Andis Packaging.
As a student, you will evaluate the customer's needs and expectations for a packaging solution and gain experience with multiple materials and revenue streams. Assignments will include participation in cross-functional teams to cultivate packaging for projects within different stages of readiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities.
- Maintains open communication and builds strong relationships with teams within and beyond engineering.
- Designs consumer-driven packaging for manufacturability, inspectability, and cost optimization.
- Reviews and qualifies packaging dyeline files from external suppliers and printers.
- Coordinates prototype models to evaluate new design concepts with suppliers.
- Generates comprehensive protocols for analyzing and testing packaging.
- Identifies, follows, and documents appropriate ISTA testing procedures.
- Creates and revises component drawings and associated BOMs with the most up-to-date specifications.
- Manages the circulation of packaging documentation for various functional approvals.
- Participates in project teams and assists in meeting stage gate deliverables.
- Completes competitor benchmarking documents with current packaging data.
- Assists with production floor challenges as needed.

Candidate must be currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited college or university for the duration of the assignment and pursuing a bachelor's degree in packaging engineering / science. Other majors with relevant packaging experience will be considered.Completed entry-level material classes in packaging.Completion of evaluation testing classes is a plus.Basic understanding of principles of structural integrity and analysis to determine effects of loads on structures.Previous experience or coursework in packaging.Knowledge of SolidWorks, Artios, ArtiosCad, TOPs, or similar design software.Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, functions / formulas, filters, etc.) as a primary tool outside of the master system.Must be able to commute to the work location daily.Andis is an equal opportunity employer.
