Risk & Quality Assurance Lead
The Risk & Quality Assurance Lead provides support in managing the organization's risk management and quality assurance activities. This role focuses on maintaining the risk inventory and matrix, performing risk-based compliance monitoring and conducting quality assurance reviews of workforce programs and subrecipient service providers. The Lead ensures timely documentation, reporting, and follow-up on identified risks and findings, helping to safeguard program compliance and performance outcomes.
Assist QA & Risk managers in maintaining the risk inventory and risk matrix by leading the collaboration with program staff and providers to collect, organize, and update the risk issues, prepare reports and summaries on risk and compliance results, and perform follow-up monitoring activities. Tracking program and regulatory updates (Uniform Guidance, TxGMS, TWC requirements) and help Workforce program managers maintain compliance documentation, policies, and procedures. Lead and / or perform quality assurance reviews, process improvement projects, monitoring visits of workforce programs and subrecipients, write memos, document findings, organize monitoring records, and support the development of corrective action plans. Coordinate with workforce board staff and subrecipient providers to gather information and follow up on compliance-related requests from grantors and auditors. Provide administrative and analytical support for risk assessment and compliance monitoring processes. Assist QA managers in oversight over career offices' leases and facilities compliance by maintaining accurate and complete lease records details, keeping notification deadlines, issuing renewal and procurement notifications, monitor providers' compliance with lease procurement regulations, policies and guides. Supervise QA analyst on projects or assignments, provide QA and risk training and / or workshops to programs. Any other workforce programmatic duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of workforce program operations, procurement, grant administration, or compliance requirements. Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing workforce programs (Texas Workforce Commission a plus). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Strong time management skills, including ability to track progress and maintain consistent follow-ups to ensure timely implementation of mitigation plans. Analytical ability to support monitoring and compliance activities.
Do you have Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study. 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job-related duties.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience in compliance, auditing, quality assurance, or program monitoring. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. Interest in building expertise in frameworks such as COSO Enterprise Risk Management and the "Green Book."
