We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will provide essential support to the accounting department, working closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth daily operations. Responsibilities :
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
- Contribute to accounting projects, including software implementation, budgeting, and process improvements, by preparing documentation such as meeting notes and standard operating procedures.
- Generate weekly financial reports and perform ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making.
- Manage administrative tasks such as answering calls and maintaining organized files to support ongoing accounting operations.
- Gain a thorough understanding of financial systems, including modules for accounts payable, billing, retail, and other related areas.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Handle accounting entries and maintain records to support financial audits and reporting.
- Collaborate on special projects, ad hoc reporting, and additional tasks as needed to meet organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 2-3 years of practical experience in accounting roles.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in intermediate-level Excel functions, such as formulas and data analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting entries.
- Experience with bank and account reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes.
