Duties and Responsibilities :
Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering treatment plans to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs)
Carry out therapeutic activities to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, cognition, and self-care abilities
Monitor and document resident progress through accurate and timely notes and reports
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members
Support in training residents and families on techniques and use of adaptive equipment
Follow established treatment protocols and safety guidelines under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
Participate in care team meetings and collaborate to ensure a holistic, resident-centered care approach
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and Residents' Rights
Perform other duties as directed by the Occupational Therapist or Director of Rehabilitation
Requirements / Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current COTA certification and state license in good standing
Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but not required
Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
