Responsibilities

Responsible for performing highly specialized and complex professional accounting and financial planning for the University Business Administrators (UBA) at Information Technology Services (ITS). Comprehensive management of non-E&G revenue and expenses to ensure ongoing financial and fiscal transparency and viability with budget and financial accounting of multiple E&G, auxiliary, and fund accounts.

  • Provides day-to-day guidance and coordination of activities and staff for specialized accounting projects to ensure comprehensive tracking and reporting of all ITS non-E&G budgets and accounts. Responsible for financial planning, and budget maintenance, including revenue sources, expenses, and service costing. Monitors, maintains, and calculates chargeback rates and revenue funding for all auxiliary enterprises to support yearly annual transparency and cost recovery. Responsible for special project reporting for Classroom Renovation Operations Committee (CROC) projects, Student Technology Fee projects, etc., to ensure financial planning processes are in place for optimal budget preparation.
  • Ensures University compliance by reviewing E&G financial reporting completed by Fiscal Operations staff. Audits, analyzes, verifies, and performs complex financial reconciliations to ensure ITS financial statements comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal, state, and local laws, as well as university rules and regulations. Gathers data for developing annual E&G budgets and financial projections by providing details requested for cost studies, trends, and budgetary review.
  • Develops and maintains financial records and ad hoc reports to conduct financial analyses of departmental operations to support ITS executive leadership and ensure sound business practices and financial stability. Interprets, develops, and implements fiscal and accounting administrative policies and procedures to support the entire ITS business and service operations.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships throughout the University to attain departmental goals and objectives. Ensures standardized policies and procedures for this position and direct reports are documented and updated. Handles special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of accounting related experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note : a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

  • Experience compiling, reviewing, and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
