• IV insulin protocols
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care
• PICC line management
• Ventilator management

Description :

This is a Level 2 Trauma facility with a comprehensive stroke center.

The facility offers an advanced cardiac and open-heart program.

The ICU and CVICU admit a diverse range of patients.

Patient ratios are 1 : 2 with a total of 20 beds in the unit.

Travelers are accepted for positions.

Float requirements may include moving to units of equal or lesser acuity.

Weekend coverage is every other or every third weekend.

Available equipment includes EPIC and GE monitors.

Preferred skills include management of chronic and acute renal failure.

Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation is required.

Nurses will assist with the management of CPAP / BiPAP and care for ventilated patients.

Interpreting ABGs and suctioning are also part of the responsibilities.

Infection prevention and isolation precautions are mandatory.

Experience with surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacs is necessary.

The unit collaborates with various interdisciplinary support services such as physical therapy and respiratory services.

Patient diagnoses include CHF, sepsis, stroke, trauma, and others.

Special procedures may involve ECMO, hemodialysis, and bedside procedures.

The environment supports a mix of medical, surgical, cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, neuro, and trauma patients.

Candidates must live outside a designated travel radius to apply.
