The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Specialist to manage inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and support scheduled production through accurate staging and paperwork validation. The ideal candidate will ensure all materials are accounted for and properly documented, helping maintain efficiency and accuracy in our supply chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular updates and reconciliations
- Conduct scheduled and spot cycle counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and report findings to management
- Stage and organize materials for production
- Validate and enter production paperwork
- Identify and communicate potential stock shortages to purchasing and management
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain efficient inventory flow
- Utilize inventory management systems for data entry and tracking
- Prepare inventor reports and documentation for internal use and audits
- Follow safety and compliance procedures during inventory handling and movement.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment
Fast paced food production and warehouse environment with frequent interaction with cross functional teams (production, sales, logistics, accounting / finance, and quality assurance)The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office environment with prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk working on a computerFrequently works in warehouse / plant in heat / cold conditions and required use of personal protective equipment. Must be able to lift to 50 poundsQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required1 to 3 years of experience in inventory control is a plusPrior experience in food manufacturing environment is preferredBasic understanding of food safety and handling procedures (or willingness to learn)Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructionsGood communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructionsBasic math skills and able to read and write in English functionallyComputer literate including Excel and WordComfortable with working in ERP and other software applicationsStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilityForklift certification (preferred or required depending on company needs)Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentBasic math skills and able to read and write in English functionallyBilingual in Spanish / English a plusBenefits
