Job Title : Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Summary :
The accounts payable clerk position pays a company's bills on time and makes sure the company is being billed the proper amounts, accounts payable invoices are properly coded and approved for processing. This position will be answering accounts payable queries and reconciling supplier statements. They typically have knowledge of general accounting and budgeting.

Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoicesReconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balancesCharges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice / expense reports, recording entriesPays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, preparing checks, and resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentationEnsures credit is received for outstanding memos stop payments op-payments or purchases order amendmentsPays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checksMaintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactionsVerifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactionsMaintains historical records by microfilming and filing documentsDisburses petty cash by recording entries and verifying documentationReports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoicesProtects the organizations value by keeping information confidentialUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunitiesAccomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as neededRequired Skills / Abilities :
