Salary : $163,000 - $200,000 / year

Position Summary : The Vice President of Operations is a member of the Companys Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the operations team to achieve the Companys mission and strategic plan effectively and efficiently, in a manner that honors our culture and values. This position provides the leadership, management, and vision to ensure that the Company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, people, and systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Serves as a member of the Leadership Team.

Assists the CEO and Leadership Team in building and nurturing a work environment that reflects the Companys core values and mission.

  • Participates in the development of the Company's plans and programs, specifically providing strategic guidance for operational plans and programs.
  • Provides the Leadership Team with analysis, options, and recommendations on operational aspects of the business.
  • Drafts and implements the Operations department budget. Monitors performance to budget and informs the Leadership Team of anomalies.
  • Provides overall leadership, direction, and management for the Operations department. Responsibilities include :
  • Strategic planning, operations planning, budgeting, and financial management.

  • Professional development of staff including succession planning.
  • Maintaining an environment that motivates and develops staff to optimize their productivity, creativity, and professional growth.
  • Leading and supporting business process improvement initiatives throughout the Company.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations issues by OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Establishes and monitors key performance indicators for supply chain, technical service, and quality, ensuring deliverables remain on target and aligned with Company goals.
  • Oversees change management in Operations teams growth.
  • Fosters cross functional partnerships across the organization.
  • Strengthens collaboration with global business units, with a focus on quality / supply chain initiatives to support international growth and consistency.
  • Oversees the Maintenance department and ensures that the Companys facility is maintained as a safe, clean, functional, and effective workplace for Company employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Ability to lead, manage, and orchestrate a diverse team with varied duties in a collaborative effort with a common goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead a high-performance operations team including assessing, coaching, and developing department supervisors.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills in creating a team-oriented culture.
  • Sound analytical and organizational skills, the ability to effectively delegate responsibility and coordinate a wide variety of activities.
  • Knowledge of current manufacturing planning, inventory control, quality, and production processes.
  • Strategic and impactful communicator, in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors / suppliers.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelors degree in Organizational Manager or related field is required. An MBA is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience with progressive responsibility is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a complex operational organization is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an ISO-9001 (or related) quality management environment is required. Experience with ISO-13485 is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) information system is required. Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success implementing business improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing programs is preferred.
  • Experience with customer support and / or technical support functions strongly preferred.
