Senior Orthopedic Tech
Location : Houston Medical Center
Pay Rate : $33 / hr
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM
About the Role
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a Senior Orthopedic Technician to provide excellent customer service and support to the patient care team. This position assists licensed providers during scheduled clinic visits and emergency center cases by performing casting, splinting, and related orthopedic procedures. The Senior Orthopedic Tech will also provide operational assistance by ensuring efficient patient flow and room readiness.
Responsibilities
- Apply and remove casts, splints, and perform basic hardware maintenance.
- Provide patient and family education on cast maintenance and skin care after cast removal.
- Assist with patient intake, rooming, and coordination during clinic visits.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation per departmental standards.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the orthopedic team.
- Manage casting and clinical supplies, update PAR levels, and communicate restocking needs.
- Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and organized on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED required.Experience :Minimum of three years performing casting, splinting, and hardware maintenance.Minimum of two years working in an orthopedic setting (orthopedic technician, medical assistant with casting experience, or athletic trainer).Certifications (one required) : NBCOT, ASOP, or OCT certification.Technical Skills : Must be proficient in applying the following fiberglass casts : ulnar gutter, radial gutter, mitten cast, muenster cast, thumb spica, and long arm.Why Join Us
