Job Summary : The position of Oven Operator is responsible for measuring and molding sections of plastics to sizes required for constructing signage.
Essential Functions :
- Operate a PVI Thermoforming oven, trimming machinery and support equipment
Form plastic backs and faces using PVI forming oven
Interpret artwork to select correct size and type of plasticSet oven to correct temperatures for materials being usedEnsure both plastic and molds are clear of debrisReview artwork to ensure correct number of pieces have been formedMake adjustments to production machinery as needed to ensure product meets customer specifications and to minimize machine downtown and scrap ratesPerform basic machinery maintenance repairs as directed by Plant ManagerPerform job setups on machinery as directed by Plant ManagerLift plastic moldsWork in a very warm area that could reach temperatures over 90 degrees during the summerSets stops and guides to specified length indicated by scale, rule or templateMeasures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operationObserves machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctionOperation of the following tools in a safe manner according to OSHA and company guidelines :Jig Saw

The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required. The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
