CVICU RN Job Details Location : Seattle, WA 98122 (Washington nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract Start Date : December 1, 2025 End Date : March 2, 2026 Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30), 3 shifts / week (36 hours / week) Setting : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 22 beds Patient Population : Adults and geriatrics Staffing Ratio : 1 : 1-2 Scrubs : Navy blue Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2.5 years of recent CVICU RN experience required (must have worked in CVICU within the last 6 months) Active RN license in Washington or compact state license Certifications : ACLS, BLS, and CRRT Prismaflex (all required) Proven experience with IABP, fresh open heart recovery, and CRRT Cardiac surgical nursing experience required EPIC charting experience preferred Ability to float to neuro stepdown, cardiac stepdown, neuro critical care, and sister hospital as needed Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced CVICU environment First-time travel nurses with strong CVICU experience are encouraged to apply CVICU RN Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care for cardiovascular disease patients, including pre / post Cath Lab and IR procedures, and fresh open heart surgery Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac support : CABG, OHS, AAA, valvular repairs, IABP, Impella, VADs, pacemakers, and epicardial pacer management Perform and manage CRRT / dialysis, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management (high frequency vents, procedure sedation) Administer blood products, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and respond to emergencies (cardioversion / defibrillation, rapid sequence intubation drugs) Assist with chest tube set-up / care, CPAP / BiPAP, trach care, and breathing treatments Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs, arterial blood gases, and manage sheath removal Follow infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and wound care (drains and wound vacs) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response Float to other critical care units as needed to support patient care Apply now to join our Seattle CVICU nursing team and take the next step in your healthcare career!
