Behavior Systems Specialist

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi BOCES) invites you to apply to be a part of Synergy Plus, a virtual 6 : 1 : 2 special education program. Synergy Plus is a 100% virtual opportunity to deliver one to one or small group live virtual instruction based on student individual needs and subject areas during the school day. While the program is virtual, the Behavior Systems Specialist is an in person position located on the CiTi BOCES Main Campus located in Mexico, NY.

Position Overview : CiTi BOCES is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Behavior Systems Specialist to join our Virtual Synergy Plus 6 : 1 : 2 program. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in understanding and addressing student behavior, conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). This role requires a strong foundation in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and the ability to implement tiered behavioral interventions in classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of student behavior.
• Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to individual student needs.
• Analyze behavioral data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff , and parents to create a cohesive approach to student behavior management.
• Support the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) in classrooms.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on effective behavioral strategies and interventions.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in behavior management.
• Provide immediate crisis response and intervention to de-escalate situations, ensure students and staff safety, and implement appropriate follow-up strategies.
