A Typical Day

The Business Controls Specialist Assists in the development of a mortgage complaint reporting and tracking. Supports all lines of business with complaint routing and completion. Assists in the development of policies and procedures for all customer advocacy functions. Acts as a liaison between the business. Prepares job aid documents and partners with internal counterparts to promote consistency across the enterprise.

The Business Controls Specialist will :

  • Performs complaint routing and provides recommendations on policies & procedures related to all functions; completes research for lifeline of complaint to support resolution strategies. Performs data input of new complaints into LAFA for intake and assignment of complaints to the Written Complaint Specialist Team.Acts as a liaison between the lines of business to ensure email follow up resolution on complaints. Provides administrative support to quality assurance team members for LAFA reporting and final conclusions for Written, Social Media, and Verbal complaints. Submits refunds, payment applications, and credit reversals through the Treasury process.Develops and monitors compliance finding reports; manages shared drive folders and reporting on monthly progress.Assists in the development and management of policies & procedures for CLG Fulfillment.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.Perform other related duties as required and assigned.Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years experience in management reporting, developing policies & procedures, dealing with complexity, problem solving, legal compliance, knowledge of Reg Z, Reg X & Dodd Frank.
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Comfort level contacting escalated customers and securing their confidence that their concern is being researched

    Compensation : Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below :

  • Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
  • Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
  • Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
  • Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and / or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
