The primary purpose of this role is to effectively manage Lowe's inbound transportation program to stores and distribution centers. This includes responsibility for ensuring service level expectations are met and that necessary carrier capacity is in place to support business needs and control transportation expenses. The role also provides necessary support for expedited loads during weather-related situations and manages and develops the transportation team. Effective communication both internally and externally is essential, providing progress reports, status changes, and improvement opportunities. The position provides leadership for the inbound transportation team and actively represents transportation in meetings and training with Logistics, Inventory Management, and Merchandising regarding transportation issues. The role facilitates and executes proactive resolution of supply chain issues that optimize cost and service.
