Your Responsibilities Will Include :
Work Environment : You will primarily work aboard submarines in a clean, controlled environment, and also in clean lab or shop settings while on shore.
Training & Advancement : After completing initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (Boot Camp), you will undergo specialized training, including :
Post-Service Opportunities : Your military training and experience can provide valuable skills and credentials for careers in fields such as electrical engineering and telecommunications in the civilian sector.
Education Opportunities : Gain credit hours toward a bachelor’s or associate degree through the American Council on Education. You can also utilize the Navy College Program and Tuition Assistance, along with the Post-9 / 11 GI Bill for further education.
Qualifications : A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance. You should possess strong arithmetic, writing, and speaking skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to perform detailed work while keeping accurate records. Physical attributes such as good manual dexterity and strength are also important, along with a willingness to serve aboard submarines.
