Med / Surg LPN Job Details

Location : Roswell, New Mexico 88201

Healthcare Setting : Medical Surgical Unit

Assignment Type : Travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Floating : Rarely required; may float to ICU for Med / Surg overflow or Step Down patients

Scrubs : Royal Blue

EMR System : Cerner, Mindray Telemetry

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 (occasionally 1 : 7)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1260-$1350 per week

Med / Surg LPN Qualifications

Active LPN / LVN license (New Mexico nursing jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical experience required

BLS certification required

IV certification required

ACLS certification preferred

Ability to complete fingerprinting for New Mexico travel nurse assignments

Strong clinical support, critical thinking, and communication skills

Willingness to float as needed

Med / Surg LPN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care under Registered Nurse supervision

Perform physical exams and collect patient data

Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient education

Administer medications and peripheral IV therapy

Implement physician orders and document care accurately

Participate in discharge planning and patient assessments

Delegate and supervise tasks to assigned personnel

Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education
