- Position Summary :
The Outpatient Therapy Director oversees the planning, development, marketing and operations of the outpatient rehabilitation services. This leadership role ensures high-quality therapy care, regulatory compliance, team management, and alignment with the facility's overall goals to improve residents' functional outcomes and quality of life.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Direct and manage all aspects of outpatient therapy services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of therapists and therapy assistants.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
- Track and analyze therapy outcomes, patient satisfaction, and productivity metrics.
- Manage department budget, staffing, and scheduling to meet operational and financial goals.
- Serve as the liaison between therapy staff, residents, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Ensure safe, ethical, and evidence-based treatment practices.
- Facilitate staff training and development to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and regulatory audits.
- Manage marketing and program development to grow the outpatient program.
- Qualifications :
- Current license as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant or Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience in outpatient or geriatric therapy strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of Medicare Part B regulations and ALF dynamics.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
- Work Environment :
This position operates within an ALF that offers outpatient therapy services. It may require occasional lifting, standing, and interaction with residents who have varying levels of physical and cognitive function.
