Job Description

Responsible for preparing basic to moderately complex design assignments and, with minimal direction, performing highly complex Intelligent Modeling and / or CADD drafting assignments. Duties include translating level of design (LOD) documents and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs, reviewing manufacturer or fabricator prints, providing design sketches for lower-level modeling personnel, determining material needs and performing calculations, verifying intelligent model integrity, acting as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for projects, performing crosschecks of drawings, providing general conceptual input during the planning stages, leading or supporting field assignments, reviewing completed assignments for QA / QC adherence, and performing related engineering support tasks such as plotting drawings, preparing transmittals, overnight packages, file management, filing prints, distributing drawings, assisting in design calculations, coordinating specifications with drawings, and establishing design criteria for project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare basic to moderately complex design assignments.

Perform highly complex Intelligent Modeling and / or CADD drafting assignments with minimal direction.

Translate level of design documents and sketches of unusual or complex designs.

Review manufacturer or fabricator prints for design documents.

Provide lower‑level modeling personnel with design sketches for finished drawings and general layouts.

Determine material needs and perform calculations using accepted formulas and references.

Verify intelligent model integrity and act as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator.

Crosscheck drawings to ensure consistency and adherence to Q / QC standards.

Provide conceptual input during planning and support or lead field assignments.

Review completed assignments for accuracy and QA / QC adherence.

Plot drawings, prepare transmittals, overnight packages, manage files, file prints, distribute drawings, assist in design calculations, and coordinate specifications with drawings.

Establish design criteria for assigned project phases based on engineering principles, material properties, and construction processes.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.

9 years of related experience.

Domestic and / or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties.

Equivalent direct experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Plant3D, REVIT, and other modeling software.

Industrial and petrochemical experience.

Experience running Clasher in Navisworks.

Site walk‑downs and scope definition assistance for small to medium projects.

Travel

10% travel required.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication skills and strict attention to detail.

Flexible team player capable of adapting to changing requirements.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office for design tasks.

Advanced working knowledge of intelligent modeling / CADD drafting commands.

Solid understanding of intelligent modeling technologies.
