Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NY RN license, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and 2+ years of L&D experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
  • Provides care to laboring and postpartum patients and their newborns
  • Nurses work 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, three shifts per week
  • Schedule includes variable days
  • Electronic charting system and bedside fetal monitoring equipment are used
  • Must complete unit-specific online modules prior to start
  • Scrub color or dress code information will be provided upon assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted with a reduced rate for those living within 60 miles
  • Candidates with prior employment at facilities in the health system will undergo an eligibility review

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS required
  • Advanced NRP certification required (must be AHA issued)
  • NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) required
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required; Advanced EFM not accepted
  • Two recent professional references from a manager or above required
  • If license or certification is expiring during assignment, proof of renewal or scheduled course required for consideration
