Product Costing Manager

About The Role

Prepare product cost summaries and work closely with Merchandisers and Product Developers to ensure costing meets target division margins and company requirements. Partner closely with the Asia and Central / South America team to support the entire product development pre-cost and production costing process.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for costing management and analysis of all apparel from development through production.
  • Conduct cost comparisons by gender, silhouette, COO to ensure optimal margin is achieved.
  • Skilled / experienced in IMU / margin calculations and able to calculate target FOB to hit specific margin requirements (based on provided Wholesale, Duty, Target Margin, Freight).
  • Manage Production Cost confirmation for all assigned styles.
  • Work closely and lead Asia team to maintain System's FOB and Pre-cost
  • Negotiate and reconfirm MOQ / MCQ and Skechers Cost Standards as needed. Engages in vendor assessments specific to development deliverables, costing and overall quality of product.
  • Provide high-level analysis, business reports, and qualitative and actionable feedback and recommendations to senior leadership, including contributions to quarterly hindsights.
  • Develop and share merchandise analysis to inform and lead decision making, including upcoming buys, current opportunities, and risk management scenarios.
  • Evolve product line architecture as needed and develop pre-season range plans that tie to topline strategies and offer guidance on product segmentation.
  • Partner with Merchandisers to develop seasonal margin targets and work closely to drive for margin improvements.
  • Create short- and long-term product assortment strategies in partnership with Merchandising that align with the Brand vision, financial plan targets and customer experience goals, full-price and off-price product.
  • Assist special projects if needed.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ year apparel development and costing experience.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.
  • Great Negotiator / Compromiser.
  • Manage / generate margin reports, analysis, ad hoc Excel.
  • Able to analyze complex margin reports, cost component breakdowns, materialization breakdowns, production pair reports.
  • Requirements

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

  • Education : Degree required.
  • Experience in apparel industry; preferred development and / or costing experience.
  • Computer Applications, Excel skill is mandatory.
  • The pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 / yr USD.
