CardWorks, Inc. is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company of CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank and Carson Smithfield, LLC. CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to-end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offer backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees. Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank. Merrick operates three main business lines : credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services. Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management.
Cardworks is seeking a talented Senior Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of reports for both internal and external company use. In this role you will prepare financial statements, forecasts, and budgets related to company results providing senior management with timely and insightful information to drive data-focused decisions. This role will be exposed to both Corporate Finance leaders as well as interacting with Business Unit leaders and their Finance teams and will be expected to communicate effectively at all levels.
This role is based in our Woodbury, Long Island or New York City office. Candidates must be able to perform work on-site at one of these locations.
Essential Functions :
- Prepare key reports for Senior leaders in the company. Reports include monthly / quarterly presentations for the executive leadership team, board of directors, and potential investors.
- Support consolidation process of company financials and reporting documents by working across departments and business units to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage and optimize departmental P&Ls, ensuring sustained profitability and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Drive improvement of analysis through decreasing the time spent sourcing and preparing data, automating manual steps where possible, and leveraging multiple data sources where available.
- Develop knowledge of financial systems, including artificial intelligence tools, to assist with the reporting of results and ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
- Build and develop relationships with business unit finance teams.
- Perform ad hoc analytics to better understand key trends and drivers.
- Identify opportunities for increased automation, enhanced controls and increased efficiencies.
- Develop, implement, and manage financial KPIs for all departments, supporting overall strategic objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar discipline required.Five (5) years of financial analysis or comparable experience required.Experience with credit card or banking business model and economics strongly preferred.Summary of Qualifications :
Demonstrated proficiency in performance measurement tools and technology.Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.Highly motivated individual with an ability to drive results and work with ambiguity.Strong financial analysis skills including financial modeling, reporting, and problem solving.Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, initiative, and strong work ethics are essential.Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required; Oracle EPBCS, Snowflake, Sigma, Power BI a plus.Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a team environment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands, driving results within critical deadlines.Work Environment / Physical Demands :
Work is in an office environment, with sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.Works with computer equipment for prolonged periods of time.This position typically reports to a Director.Additional working hours are necessary as business needs require.Some stress may occur.New York / Long Island based. Local travel is required on rare occasions.The salary range for this position, if located in NY Metro / NY State is $104,000 to $116,000. However, please note that the salary range will vary for other geographic areas.
