Certified Surgical Technologist
Houston, TX (Onsite) | Full-Time | $54,300 – $83,300 / year
A leading regional healthcare organization is seeking experienced Certified Surgical Technologists to join their team in Houston, TX . Openings are available in both Main OR and CVOR units.
This position offers the opportunity to provide expert perioperative care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, ensuring high-quality outcomes and supporting surgical excellence.
Available Shifts
Main OR : Full-Time | 2 : 30 PM – 11 : 00 PM | Monday–Friday + call
CVOR : Full-Time | 6 : 45 AM – 7 : 15 PM (Monday) and 6 : 45 AM – 4 : 15 PM (Tuesday–Thursday) + call
Position Overview
The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing expert perioperative patient care through the use of surgical equipment and instrumentation. This role functions as a scrub assistant under the direction of a Registered Nurse and supports a wide range of surgical procedures.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and workflow coordination while fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support for the readiness and flow of surgical cases.
Verify the availability and proper functioning of instruments, equipment, and supplies before each procedure.
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic principles and safety standards.
Serve as the first scrub on assigned specialty procedures with minimal supervision.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficiency and optimal patient outcomes.
Promote professional growth by maintaining continuing education and skill competencies.
Support department goals and serve as a resource to less experienced staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program .
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) .
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist through :
National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) , or
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) .

1+ year of CVOR experience required for CVOR role.
2+ years of Main OR experience required for Main OR role.
Surgical Center-only experience will not be considered.
Strong understanding of perioperative care, sterile technique, and surgical workflows.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
