Description :

The Loan Operations Specialist 1 position will report directly to the Loan Operations Manager. The primary responsibilities of this position include assisting the loan operations staff with various administrative and organizational tasks. In addition, this position will ensure that all loans adhere to the guidelines of the financial institution and state and federal regulations. Other duties covered by this position include assisting customers with loan questions, payments and payoffs, and Fiserv updates. This position will primarily work from our Grimes branch but may be asked to work from other locations as needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES : Loan Servicing : 70%

  • Coordinates and maintains the Loan Operations group email inbox.
  • Provides file maintenance support for all loan files, including but not limited to working the loan reviewing checklists, ticklers, making address changes, and performing peer review on loan documentation within the files and on the Bank’s core.
  • Posts various banking transactions on the Bank’s core.
  • Organizes and monitors all paid notes and provides communication to customers as directed.
  • Manages the loan operations accounts payable process.
  • Assists with balancing of loan operations accounts as directed by management.
  • Maintains proficient knowledge of all loan operations systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Perfection of loan collateral, including but not limited to mortgages and UCC filings and releases.
  • Performs duties, including but not limited to loan documentation, loan accounting, and loan reporting.
  • Responsible for the imaging of loans files and documents in accordance with procedures.
  • Provides loan processing support to the lending department. This will involve loan preparation and system maintenance.
  • Has a responsibility for following regulatory requirements. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and various lending program regulations.
  • Monitors and reviews daily and monthly reports as directed.

Customer Service : 15%

  • Communicates via email or phone in a professional and timely manner to respond to and answer all internal and external customer questions and concerns.
  • Assists loan personnel and customers with questions that arise, including but not limited to questions regarding customer billing, payments, disbursements, and payoffs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of customer information.
  • Maintains proficient knowledge of all bank products and services to pro-actively assist customers with their banking questions.
  • Technology : 10%

  • Maintains a proficient and functional understanding of all core systems used by the bank including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, LaserPro, DocuSign, and Fiserv products.
  • Other : 5%

  • As part of the overall bank team employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities as assigned by management.
  • Stays current on compliance regulations by attending seminars and reading available information.

  • EDUCATION AND PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

    High school degree or equivalent and one to three years’ experience in a role in the financial industry required. This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills, communication skills, as well as utilization of office equipment.
