General Accounting Manager

The State of Washington is seeking a General Accounting Manager for the Financial Services Program General Accounting in Thurston County Olympia, WA. This position is full-time, permanent, and offers flexible / hybrid remote employment. The closing date for applications is 10 / 6 / 2025 at 11 : 59 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana.

This position requires supervision and mentoring of the General Accounting staff, managing the General Accounting unit, and ensuring compliance with Agency directives, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and state and federal rules and regulations. The successful candidate must reside within the State of Washington and be available to report to the duty station in Olympia, Washington, as needed.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting, economics, statistics, or a relevant field, and three years of professional experience in accounting, budget, finance, payroll, or public administration. Alternatively, one year as a Fiscal Analyst 4, five or more years of professional experience, or a master's degree in a financial related field, or certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Governmental Financial Manager, or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
