The ISSO Level 2 supports the information assurance program for a program, organization, system, or enclave. This role involves proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing security policies, standards, and methodologies for information systems. The ISSO maintains the security posture of systems, ensuring that security policies and procedures are established and followed.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support senior ISSOs in implementing and enforcing security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
• Help evaluate security solutions to ensure compliance with requirements for processing classified information.
• Assist with configuration management (CM) for security-related software, hardware, and firmware.
• Maintain records of workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, network switches, and other devices, including system upgrades.
• Develop and maintain documentation for C&A in accordance with ODNI and DoD policies.
• Ensure compliance with system security policies and maintain the operational security posture of assigned systems or programs.
• Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining the appropriate operational security posture.
• Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for information systems.
• Obtain certification and accreditation for information systems under their responsibility.
• Plan and coordinate IT security programs and policies.
• Manage and control system changes, assessing their security impact.
• Serve as the Approval Authority for information systems under their control.
• Support security authorization activities in compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework (NIST RMF).

Qualifications :

Deployment and management of security tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners).

Requirements :

DOD 8570 Certification

This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.
