Radiologic Technologist Cardiac Cath & Interventional Radiology | Part Time

As a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology, you'll support complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that directly impact patient outcomes. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, you'll assist physicians during high-acuity interventions, operate advanced imaging equipment, and contribute to a safe, efficient procedural environment.

This role is ideal for a clinically skilled technologist who thrives in fast-paced, team-based settings and is committed to excellence in cardiovascular and interventional care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide surgical scrub assistance during cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures
  • Operate radiographic equipment within scope of licensure and safety protocols
  • Prepare procedure rooms, contrast media, and necessary supplies
  • Monitor patients and equipment during procedures, documenting relevant clinical data
  • Demonstrate intra-procedural competency in technical, diagnostic, and therapeutic techniques
  • Assist RNs with direct patient care and procedural support
  • Maintain quality control of radiology equipment and protective gear (licensed radiographers only)
  • Participate in on-call rotation with a required 30-minute response time
  • May hold individual responsibility for specific procedures or equipment oversight

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education : Completion of an accredited degree or program aligned with licensure or credential requirements
  • Experience : Prior experience in a Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology setting strongly preferred
  • Experience with cardiovascular or IR procedures highly desirable
  • Licensure / Certification : Current ARRT registration and Maryland Radiographer license OR Current credential as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Current BLS (CPR) and ACLS certification required per policy ARRT Cardiovascular (RT / CI) credential preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular and interventional radiology anatomy and procedures
  • Proficiency in radiographic equipment operation and sterile technique
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-acuity situations
  • Optional participation in Meritus Medical Center's IV course available for skill enhancement
