The Central Services Intercompany Accounting Team Lead is a critical member of the Finance Operations group. This role is responsible for overseeing operational procedures related to intercompany accounting, including management of sub-ledger accounts, dispute resolution, inbound and outbound invoice processing, month-end close activities, reporting and master data maintenance.

The Team Lead must work independently and collaborate cross-functionally with local and global business partners in Finance, Controlling, General Accounting, Aftermarket, and other areas to research and resolve operational and reporting issues while ensuring best practices are applied.

Additional responsibilities include supporting IC team members and the Accenture (Shared Service team) offshore intercompany support team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and escalating issues or exceptions to Finance Operations management.

Position offers a starting salary range of $95,000.00 - $121,000.00 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

Process Quality Expert for Intercompany Accounting

  • Oversee operational procedures to ensure timely and accurate recording of all intercompany accounts payable and receivable transactions, including credit payments, drafting, invoice workflow management, parked invoice processing, and master data maintenance.
  • Lead intercompany initiatives to align processes, people, and technology for optimization by embracing industry best practices, breaking down silos, eliminating redundancies, and standardizing processes across Daimler Truck financial operations.
  • Develop, analyze, and enhance business processes related to Intercompany Accounting across the organization.
  • Drive internal and external training programs, including content creation and delivery for operational-level trainings, supporting new processes and procedures across Daimler Truck entities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as cbFC support, IT, Controlling, Purchasing, Plant Operations, Aftermarket, and Tax to design and implement solutions for Intercompany Accounting.
  • Review operational reports and KPIs prepared by staff and act as a local Subject Matter Expert (SME) for issue escalation.
  • Ensure compliance with Intercompany Accounting policies and procedures across all areas.
  • Review and approve internal controls (ICS) for Intercompany Accounting processes.

Team Lead

  • Lead the local team of senior analysts in Intercompany Accounting, providing guidance to resolve complex topics and operational issues.
  • Train local personnel in IT systems and processes used in daily operations.
  • Oversee the global Shared Service team (5 staff) responsible for centralized back-office processes within Intercompany Accounting.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members to ensure proper prioritization of past-due accounts, including preparing documentation that summarizes key issues. Communicate with affiliate Finance personnel and internal business partners as needed.
  • Manage the relationship between DTNA and the Basware Service Manager.
  • Handle disputes with affiliate partners, researching root causes and ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
  • Oversee Intercompany Accounting personnel to ensure affiliate dispute feedback is reviewed consistently and escalated when necessary.
  • Project Lead

  • Serve as project lead , proactively identifying and implementing internal and customer-facing opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply industry best practices and benchmarking , while anticipating future business trends and evolving process standards.
  • Envision, develop and execute transformation strategies at the operational level, leading to the design and implementation of enhancements across Intercompany Accounting processes.
  • Promote and drive the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) to set measurable targets and guide ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, OR 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have leadership and continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for supporting people and processes, challenging norms, and developing innovative solutions that enhance customer and company outcomes.
  • Proven ability to educate employees on utilizing IT legacy systems and analytical tools to present critical information in actionable formats.
  • Experience driving results independently, engaging cross-functional teams in alignment with departmental strategy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing existing processes, designing new workflows, and applying strong communication skills to deliver measurable results.
  • Solid accounting background with advanced technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in SAP (including cbFC, Paragon, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills, including root cause identification, problem-solving, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience advising and clearly communicating with multiple levels of internal and external management, supported by data-driven analysis.
  • Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experienced in Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables or Procure-to-Pay
  • Experience with data analytics or business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx).
  • Prior experience as supervisor, group leader or project lead
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
