Job Title : Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector I inspects, audits, and reports on materials, processes, and products using measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with an organization’s quality standards. They are responsible for ensuring that the product or service is fit for purpose, consistent, and meets both external and internal requirements. This includes compliance with internal specifications and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor assembly and / or service processes to ensure compliance and ensure processes are being followed and are in control.
  • Use the ERP system to look up information as needed, such as part drawings, routings, and instructions.
  • Locate work instructions, assembly instructions, drawings, and any other necessary information in the database as needed.
  • Correctly interpret internal or customer requirements on drawings and other documentation.
  • Understand the work order packets (traveler : BOM, routings, family drawings, etc.) and ensure traceability of parts is maintained and routing operations are signed off properly.
  • Correctly inspect parts to required inspection levels per internal or customer specified requirements.
  • Measure parts with calipers and other equipment, having a good understanding of measuring units, especially millimeters and inches.
  • Use a microscope to inspect small parts as needed.
  • Assist in packaging of parts and ensure compliance with all quality and customer standards.
  • Keep customer satisfaction as the priority.
  • Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Good understanding of measuring units and comparing data to customer specifications to ensure within tolerances
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficiency with micrometers and visual inspection
  • Experience with assembly processes

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with very small parts and extremely close tolerances

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 / hr.
