Overview : We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Cook to join
our culinary team at RWJBarnabas Health. The ideal candidate will
have 3-5 years of prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility
or restaurant setting. This role is essential in ensuring the
preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for our staff.
Qualifications : Required : 3-5 years of cooking experience in a
healthcare facility or restaurant Strong knowledge of food safety
and sanitation practices Ability to work in a fast-paced
environment and manage multiple tasks effectively Excellent
communication and teamwork skills Preferred : ServSafe certification
Scheduling Requirements : 6 : 00am-2 : 00pm Monday-Friday Full Time
Essential Functions : Prepare main entrees for breakfast and lunch
according to established standards and forecasted amounts, ensuring
that appearance, taste, and temperature meet acceptable levels
prior to meal service Set up the service line for both breakfast
and lunch, ensuring a smooth and efficient service Maintain a clean
and sanitized work area daily, adhering to all health and safety
regulations Assist team members as needed, fostering a
collaborative and supportive kitchen environment Contribute to the
planning of weekly menus and the development of new menu items,
incorporating seasonal ingredients and dietary considerations
Demonstrate strict adherence to food storage guidelines and report
any identified safety issues, such as hazardous environments (e.g.,
damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles, or unsecured areas) Perform a
variety of cooking duties, including grilling and preparing food
items, while taking customer requests into account Check supplies
in assigned areas and replenish as needed to ensure continuous
kitchen operations Assist with the preparation of menu items,
