Description :
The Director of Advancement is a key member of the development team, responsible for building and managing a portfolio of 100-150 individual and major donor prospects. This role is focused on the cultivation and solicitation of gifts of $5,000 or more. The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-oriented fundraiser with a proven track record of building authentic relationships with donors and securing significant philanthropic support.
Requirements : Key Responsibilities
- ? Portfolio Development & Management :
- ? Manage and grow a personal portfolio of 100-150 individual and major donor prospects with the capacity to give $5,000 or more.
- ? Develop and implement individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies for each donor in the portfolio.
- ? Conduct regular meetings and engage in one-on-one communication with donors to build strong, lasting relationships.
- ? Fundraising & Solicitation :
- ? Actively solicit major gifts, pledges, and planned gifts to meet ambitious fundraising goals.
- ? Prepare and present compelling proposals and stewardship reports.
- ? Work collaboratively with the Chief Development Officer and program staff to align donor interests with organizational priorities.
- ? Prospect Research & Strategy :
- ? Collaborate with the Prospect Research and Development Manager to identify new major gift prospects.
- ? Participate in strategic planning for Xiente's overall fundraising efforts.
- ? Reporting & Administration :
- ? Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor interactions in the CRM.
- ? Track progress toward individual fundraising goals and provide regular reports to leadership.
Qualifications
? Experience :? A minimum of 3 years of experience in frontline fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts ($5,000+).? Demonstrated success in managing a major gifts portfolio and moving donors through the cultivation cycle.? Experience working with a CRM database is required; experience with Salesforce is a plus.? Skills :? Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.? Strong ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse group of stakeholders.? Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.? Strategic and creative problem-solving abilities.? Attributes :? A proactive and persistent approach to fundraising.?
