Description :

The Director of Advancement is a key member of the development team, responsible for building and managing a portfolio of 100-150 individual and major donor prospects. This role is focused on the cultivation and solicitation of gifts of $5,000 or more. The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-oriented fundraiser with a proven track record of building authentic relationships with donors and securing significant philanthropic support.

Requirements : Key Responsibilities

  • ? Portfolio Development & Management :
  • ? Manage and grow a personal portfolio of 100-150 individual and major donor prospects with the capacity to give $5,000 or more.
  • ? Develop and implement individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies for each donor in the portfolio.
  • ? Conduct regular meetings and engage in one-on-one communication with donors to build strong, lasting relationships.
  • ? Fundraising & Solicitation :
  • ? Actively solicit major gifts, pledges, and planned gifts to meet ambitious fundraising goals.
  • ? Prepare and present compelling proposals and stewardship reports.
  • ? Work collaboratively with the Chief Development Officer and program staff to align donor interests with organizational priorities.
  • ? Prospect Research & Strategy :
  • ? Collaborate with the Prospect Research and Development Manager to identify new major gift prospects.
  • ? Participate in strategic planning for Xiente's overall fundraising efforts.
  • ? Reporting & Administration :
  • ? Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor interactions in the CRM.
  • ? Track progress toward individual fundraising goals and provide regular reports to leadership.

Qualifications

  • ? Experience :
  • ? A minimum of 3 years of experience in frontline fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts ($5,000+).
  • ? Demonstrated success in managing a major gifts portfolio and moving donors through the cultivation cycle.
  • ? Experience working with a CRM database is required; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • ? Skills :
  • ? Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • ? Strong ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • ? Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • ? Strategic and creative problem-solving abilities.
