Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York nursing jobs)

Setting : Resource Pool – Medical-Surgical Telemetry (float to R5 Oncology, R6 Orthopedics, R7 Urology / ALC, and ED Hold units)

Employment Type : Travel RN – Healthcare contract

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 16 weeks (option to extend)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Weekend / Holiday Requirements : Every other weekend; 2 out of 3 major holidays

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date)

Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in Med / Surg Telemetry

At least 1 year of specialty nursing experience

Current AHA BLS certification (required)

NIH Stroke Scale certification (required prior to start)

Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)

CMSRN certification preferred

Reliable personal or rental transportation (public transportation not available)

Ability to float between medical-surgical units as scheduled

Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients (ages 25-99) in Med / Surg Telemetry units

Float between R5 Oncology, R6 Orthopedics, R7 Urology / ALC, and ED Hold units

Perform unit-specific clinical procedures : IV insertions, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, glucose monitoring

Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR system

Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, unit clerks, and other healthcare professionals

Maintain nurse-patient ratios (R5 / R6 : 1 : 4, R7 : 1 : 5)

Comply with facility dress code (navy blue & white scrubs, solid colors)

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training

Work every other weekend and scheduled holidays as required
