$240,000 to $270,000 per year

About The Position

An established PACE program in Pensacola, Florida is seeking a Board-Certified Internist or Family Medicine Physician with experience in geriatrics to serve as Medical Director . This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to lead care for seniors in a community-based model that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life.

📌 Job Description

Provide medical leadership and oversight for all participant care in a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) model.

Direct, guide, and supervise Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Oversee Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) , ensuring excellent outcomes and adherence to standards.

Develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, and protocols.

Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, nursing staff, and caregivers.

Support a culture of shared decision-making and compassionate senior care.

🩺 General Responsibilities

Perform histories, physicals, event-based and periodic reassessments.

Develop individualized treatment plans and provide medically necessary care in clinic, home, or facility settings.

Interview and evaluate applicants for program enrollment.

Counsel participants and families on prognosis, health maintenance, and chronic disease management.

Collaborate on nursing treatment programs and interdisciplinary team planning.

Participate in family conferences, provider on-call rotation, and leadership meetings.

Guide and mentor the care team on geriatric best practices.

Job Requirements

oard Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (Geriatrics certification preferred).

Active Florida medical license (or ability to obtain).

DEA & CDS certification required.

Minimum 1 year of experience working with frail or elderly populations .

Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.

Strong skills in chronic disease management and geriatric assessment.

Commitment to creative, community-focused care delivery.

Visa sponsorship not available.

Full-time schedule with balanced leadership and clinical responsibilities.

Provider on-call rotation required.
