POSITION SUMMARY :

Provides opportunities for the formal and informal growth and development of hospital staff. These opportunities impact staff performance and the quality of patient care as well as the recruitment and retention of staff.

PROVISION OF SERVICES

• The Clinical Staff Development Specialist designs and develops educational offerings for a designated audience in accordance with established department procedures and protocols, within a specified time frame.
• Once educational offerings are designed and developed, the Staff Development Specialist coordinates and / or facilitates program implementation.
• The Clinical Staff Development Specialist collects and analyzes data to assess the impact of the educational offering and to determine what, if any, remedial action is necessary to achieve the desired level of staff competency.
• Exhibits effective leadership skills through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS vision, mission, strategic goals and values and in accordance with Joint Commissions leadership standards
• Performs administrative duties to support department goals and objectives utilizing practices that maximize quality and enhance safety.
