The role of Health and Safety Manager within a prestigious Trust of schools in Hampshire is a pivotal position that offers the chance to make a significant impact on the well-being of staff, students, and visitors. Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership :
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies.Offer strategic advice on health and safety matters to senior leadership.Lead risk management initiatives in collaboration with the Executive Director, Finance.Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety laws and regulations.Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.Maintain detailed records of incidents and compile necessary reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.Liaise with external agencies, including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authorities.Create and deliver training programmes on health and safety best practices.Ensure all staff receive appropriate inductions and ongoing professional development.Serve as the primary contact for health and safety training needs across the Trust.Oversee the reporting and investigation of accidents and incidents.Collaborate with site managers to ensure safe working environments.Implement a Trust-wide health and safety monitoring system.Develop and test emergency response plans, including fire evacuation and lockdown procedures.Support schools in managing critical incidents and conducting post-incident reviews.Ensure all schools have adequate first aid provision and accident reporting procedures.Skills and Experience Required :
Proven experience in a senior health and safety role, ideally within an educational or multi-site environment.In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.Excellent communication and training abilities.Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.This role is an exceptional chance for a dedicated Health and Safety professional to lead and innovate within a dynamic educational Trust.
