Material Handler

Starting Pay Rate : $15.75 / hr Those working the 2nd shift receive a pay differential

Schedule : Monday - Friday Hours : 4 : 00 pm - 12 : 30 am

Mandatory overtime is determined by business needs and may require additional hours during the regular schedule, as well as availability on weekends.

Dress Code : Casual attire is acceptable but must be within company guidelines. Closed toed shoes are required.

Position Summary : Under direct supervision, a Material Handler in warehouse operations is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the processing of returned / recalled items on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The Material Handler position requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position. Primary Accountabilities :

• Lift and move boxes to and / or from the scanning lines
• Open boxes (or other containers) of returned / recalled items with a box cutter
• Visually match or identify the Return Authorization (RA) information on the outside of the container to the paperwork and specific items within the container to verify that it matches
• Follow instructions for handling any discrepancies noted
• Prepare paperwork for scanning by smoothing folds and removing staples; enter additional information to the system as prompted
• Place items processed into a tote; prepare a placard with RA and tote barcode for scanning process
• When scanning process is complete, add totes to a pallet, label the pallet for storage; move pallets to storage as directed
• Stock empty totes at scanning lines and remove trash from scanning area as directed
• Always maintain a clean and orderly workstation and area
• If forklift certified, operate forklift for movement of order / products on the processing floor, if assigned

Incremental pay increase are provided at 3 months and 12 months of employment. This is a non-exempt, hourly role eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state laws. In addition to base hourly pay, eligible employees in this role may receive : Safety bonuses based on meeting defined performance and compliance requirements. Shift differentials, where applicable(e.g. for evening or late shifts)
