GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :Provides psychosocial support to residents and families, St. Mary's staff, social agencies working with St. Mary’s residents, and community groups. Ensures that the highest standards of professional practice are maintained in the delivery of Social Services to St. Mary’s residents and their families. Provides training to St. Mary’s staff regarding issues of advocacy, human rights, legal issues, abuse / neglect, and issues regarding the coping capacity of residents and their families. Ensures the protection of rights for St. Mary’s residents and their families. Serves as an advocate for St. Mary’s residents and as an administrative liaison with protective services agencies. Serves on the Human Rights Committee, the Interdisciplinary Team and other committees as requested by the Administrator.Do not wait to apply after reading this description a high application volume is expected for this opportunity.
- Experience :
- 3-5 years of experience in a facility for developmentally disabled individuals, or a health care setting, in a Social Services capacity / position, management or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Other Skills, Certifications, Licenses or Abilities :
- License from the Louisiana Board of Certified Social Work Examiners is preferred. Ability to use office equipment, including a computer with appropriate software programs. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
