About The Position

Job Title : Cath Lab Technologist Profession : Cath Lab Technologist Specialty : Cath Lab Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Days Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience License : Unexpired Driver's License required Certifications : BLS, Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - RCIS Must-Have : Must have 2 years of Cath Lab experience. Must be trained in scrub or imaging, or both. Must have exposure to interventional radiology and peripheral vascular cases. Must have experience with impellas, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, roto. Description : The Cath Lab team consists of a 4-person setup, including 2 RNs and 2 Technologists. One Technologist is responsible for imaging, while the other scrubs. Technologists typically do not monitor or document on patients. The lab features 3 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid Room, and 7 Holding Rooms. On average, there are 16 cases performed per day, including cardiac procedures such as PCI, diagnostic LHC, RHC, and pacemaker implants. Other cases include vascular, interventional radiology, mediports, dialysis catheters, and AAA stenting in a hybrid lab. Equipment used in the lab includes impellas, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, and roto. The EMR system currently in use is GE MacLab, with plans to switch to Phillips Xper in 2026. On-call requires a 30-minute response time for a team consisting of 2 RNs and 2 Technologists. Technologists work 3 shifts from 0530 to 1800, with call coverage on weekdays and every 3rd weekend. There is a charge nurse present on each shift who assists with workflow and assignments. The dress code consists of provided royal blue scrubs. The department has a cancellation policy allowing for 2 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment.
