Summary : The Business Systems and Data Analyst will work to ensure alignment of business process with Berner Systems of record . This position will strive to make current systems more efficient for users while constantly evaluating the changing needs of the business and looking for improved solutions, acting as a liaison between business departments and IT. The role entails data analysis and utilizing tools such as SQL and Qlik to synthesize data from various sources into coherent reports and reporting dashboards for the management team. The role requires a deep understanding of enterprise data, how data is interlinked, and serves as a bridge between systems data and management key performance indicators and operational metrics.
Job Responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Create and maintain a strategic partnership with the business users in order to analyze and evaluate current and future business needs
- Align business needs and system processes
- Elicit and develop business requirements through interviews, meetings, existing systems documentation, and / or procedures.
- Create business and technical documentation defining processes, roles, and technology interaction
- Communicate effectively business needs to internal and external Application Developers
- Participate in the upgrade and / or enhancement process of existing business software
- Manage multiple projects
- Coordinate or lead the testing and / or training process for new systems or new functionality
- Understand Electronic Data Interchange and have the ability to resolve problems within EMF or with our third-party web-based service suppliers.
- Ability to design, code, test, implement and maintain medium complexity software applications (i.e. MS Access & SQL), queries, and reports as needed to facilitate business processes and analysis while adhering to standards and naming conventions.
- Recommend or perform actions to correct problems.
- Contribute to a positive IT work environment that is built on hard work, collaboration, respect for each other, and a desire to learn.
- Collaborate with the IT Business Solutions, Development, and Technology groups
- Design and assist in the development of new reports using Gembase, Access SSRS, Qilkview, and other systems
- Migrating reports from Legacy applications, ie. MS Excel and Access to more robust BI solutions.
- Occasional weekend work and travel are required.
