This role involves providing patient care and transportation services as part of an advanced life support ambulance team serving a busy metropolitan area in the Southeastern United States. The position requires adherence to state certification and local medical protocols while delivering emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance transport services.
Education and Certifications : Candidates must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association and have completed NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses. All certifications must be maintained throughout employment. A valid driver's license is required.
Experience : At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience is necessary. Familiarity with emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous material incidents, and pre-hospital care equipment is essential. Knowledge of regional geography, including major streets, landmarks, and healthcare facilities, should be acquired within six months of employment.
Requirements : The ability to remain calm under high-stress situations and follow established protocols is critical. Compassionate and professional interaction with patients, families, and colleagues is expected. Candidates must be capable of safely operating various ambulance vehicles and possess the physical strength to lift and move patients weighing up to 150 pounds.
