Fabrication & Assembly Technician — New Orleans, LA
Contract Position
Responsibilities
Perform hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing for aerospace-grade components and systems.Fabricate structural, mechanical, and electrical components per engineering drawings and 3D CAD modelsAssemble precision mechanical, electro-mechanical, and avionics components, including wire harnesses and power plantsPerform machining, welding, sheet metal work, tube bending, and composite lay-upInstall and integrate electronic devices, avionics sensors, accelerometers, strain gauges, and instrumentationConduct soldering, crimping, and wiring to aerospace standardsBuild and validate prototypes, perform fit checks and functional tests, and troubleshoot to meet design intentMaintain process documentation and comply with quality, cleanliness, and safety standards in Controlled Work Areas (CWA)Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve design, manufacturability, or integration challengesQualifications
High school diploma or GED plus 1+ years of relevant fabrication, assembly, or electrical experienceStrong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform precise measurements and mechanical troubleshootingProficiency interpreting 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)Experience with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and fabrication equipmentBackground in FOD-sensitive environments, ideally in automotive, aerospace, or military applicationsPreferred Qualifications
Former or current military experience, with familiarity in military standards and safety-critical environments3+ years fabrication / assembly experience including metalwork, welding, soldering, riveting, and wiring / ECU integrationExperience in prototype builds and small production runs for aerospace or defense projectsMoseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA / EEO / Veterans / Disabled Employer.
