Peer Health Education Program Coordinator

The Health & Wellness Resource Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Peer Health Education Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)) to join their team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Health Education :

  • Serve as a main point of contact for student peer health educators on campus.
  • Assist in beginning of the year and ongoing trainings for peer health educators, helping them to develop the skills to create high quality health education programs.
  • Oversee the student’s creation of health education materials, including flyers, handouts, and social media posts, ensuring that materials adhere to rigorous best practice guidelines.
  • Provide event support for health education events on campus, including marketing, room reservations, event set up and take down.
  • Monitor program content to stay up to date in education recommendations in areas of sexual health, mental health, healthy relationships, and basic needs.

Administrative :

  • Track data from peer education programs, including event attendance and social media engagement.
  • Help develop and implement a regular assessment plan for student staff.
  • Contribute to program and strategic planning for growing health education programs on campus.
  • Manage assignments and work load for peer health educators.
  • Oversee ordering of supplies needed for health education programs.
  • Maintain relationships with on and off campus partners to increase collaborations.
  • Assist in reserving space for meetings and events.
  • Participate in department and campus committees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the health promotion & wellness or health education or peer education OR equivalent education / experience.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in health education, higher education, or peer education desired (could be professional or student experience).
  • Strong email and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including students, staff, and faculty.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, and a willingness to work with new software, technologies, and systems.
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work and learning environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment and multi-tasking.
  • Available for primarily in-person, student facing work, with some remote flexibility.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of work experience in health education or higher education settings
  • Experience with marketing and design work, including social media.
  • Experience in the planning and the logistical coordination of programs and events.
