Overview

Human Services Recruiter at Work Opportunities Unlimited. WOU is an employee-owned (ESOP) organization that has helped people with diverse skills and abilities find meaningful employment since 1982. As an Employment Specialist you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

Typical day

A typical day might include the following :

  • Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
  • Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
  • Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
  • Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites

Responsibilities

  • Develop career goals and objectives with individuals
  • Help individuals create resumes, complete job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
  • Engage with local businesses to identify and develop employment opportunities
  • Provide coaching and on-site guidance to individuals at their jobs

    • Qualifications and requirements

  • Valid driver's license and comfortable traveling within your local community
  • Monday – Friday, daytime hours (flexibility offered for part-time) and availability until 6pm (Monday - Thursday) to support student services
  • Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

    • Compensation and benefits

  • Base pay range : $20.00 / hr - $23.00 / hr
