Responsibilities Work in a 22-bed Med / Surg-Orthopedics unit within an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes orthopedic cases focused on joints, replacements, and fractures Typical patient ratios are 1 : 5-6 Night shifts from 7 : 00 p.m. to 7 : 30 a.m., including weekends and assigned holidays Unit uses Epic EMR for charting Possible floating to other units including 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E Three CNAs support each shift, and a charge nurse is present 24 / 7 Responsibilities include caring for orthopedic patients with a variety of joint, replacement, and fracture needs RNs are not required to read telemetry strips or titrate drips Royal blue scrubs are required as the unit dress code Travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation and may work every other weekend or two weekend shifts per schedule Unit-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts First time travelers are welcome to apply Returning RNs are eligible if they have not worked at any WVU Medicine location in the past 2 years and have not exceeded 1 year cumulative travel experience within WVU Requirements Active WV or compact state RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience Current BLS certification is required Must have strong orthopedic experience, including total joint replacement care Experience with Epic charting system preferred Driver’s license address must be outside a 50-mile radius from the facility COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is obtained Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622727.
